My Evolution….

After leaving school at 17 completely unsure of who I was and what I wanted to do like many, I chose a path that was widely accepted & made logical sense at the time.

I began an apprenticeship in plumbing & drainage for 3 years before transitioning to a steel fabrication company for the next decade. While construction is a valuable industry, by age 30 I was dragging my feet through each day feeling more disconnected & unfulfilled.  I had developed unhealthy behaviors since leaving school & was managing my stresses with violent outbursts & substance addiction in various forms. I still had wonderful things in my life; a loving family, significant other, a steady income and a house on a hill with a lovely view. Yet I was deeply unhappy…..

I decided to take a leap of faith and search for purpose, something new and rewarding. Working part time, I studied naturopathy for 12 months before the COVID experience hit & challenged me in a new way. The uni was shut down, my employer informed me that my services where no longer required and all of Victoria was forced into long periods of lockdown and isolation. Anger, anxiety & depression set in as my partners employment was also terminated. After 12 months of lockdown with reduced income, I knew I had to change my situation. We sold our house on the hill and virtually everything we owned and set of to travel Australia in a camper-van in the hope of finding a new home and a fresh start.

While traveling was liberating, my internal state was still suffering. I was carrying struggles that so many do. After some time on the road, I began to long for somewhere to stay more permanently, so we stopped on the southern gold coast and decided to board with some family. It was here I heard about a kinesiologist who came with good recommendation. By this time my 13 year relationship was ending and I felt as though I had hit rock bottom. I was unfamiliar with kinesiology but knew I required support so, I went along without expectation.

The Gratitude I have for that experience is hard to put into words. I left the session knowing something profound had shifted and like many who receive kinesiology for the first time, I walked out a little amazed at what just happened. For the first time in a long time, I felt like I had the power to change my life for the better and decided to commit to my own healing journey. Thoroughly impressed by my practitioner and the modality as a whole, I began to dream of helping others in a similar way and decided to move to Brisbane to study and advanced diploma of Kinesiology full time.

Fast forward to present time, I have a renewed excitement for life and a deep appreciation for how this holistic & integrative modality supports our innate ability to restore balance, find clarity, connect with purpose, actuate goals and self-heal.
